Welcome to the BCS Family: Introducing Chris Jones, Our New Varsity Baseball Head Coach

We are honored to welcome Chris Jones to our team as the new varsity baseball head coach. A native of Savannah, Georgia, and a proud alumnus of Windsor Forest High School, Coach Jones brings a rich tapestry of experience and dedication to our program. His educational journey took him from Albany State University to Georgia Southwestern State University, and then to Northcentral University, laying a solid foundation for his multifaceted career.

Before stepping into his role with us, Mr. Jones dedicated 16 years to educating young minds in Southwest Georgia, alongside serving as a production supervisor. His transition into coaching was seamless, given his 17 years of coaching experience across recreational and high school levels in various sports. As a skills development trainer, he has been pivotal in nurturing young talent, contributing to the emergence of several GHSA all-region performers.

Beyond the field, Mr. Jones's commitment to his community shines brightly. He serves as an umpire, extending his influence across the local community and the southeast region, and holds the position of Vice-President of Lee County Youth Baseball. His advocacy for youth in Southwest Georgia is unwavering, demonstrated through his founding of the South GA Mariners, Inc., a non-profit youth baseball program.

As a father of two, Mr. Jones values family and community, weaving these elements into his coaching philosophy. His recognition, including the WFXL Jefferson Community Service Award and being named a Top 50 Alumnus Under 50 by Albany State University, speaks volumes about his impact off the field.

Coach Jones's passion extends beyond baseball; he is deeply involved in sports ministry, driven by his faith and a desire to positively influence young athletes. His belief in teaching the game of baseball as a platform for life lessons is a testament to his character and vision.
