Dear BCS Families,
November is here, and it's a wonderful time to reflect on all the reasons we have to be grateful! As the weather begins to cool and the holiday season approaches, there is so much happening around our BCS campus.
Do you remember the squeak of sneakers on a gym floor, the roar of the crowd after a big basket, or cheering from the sidelines with your squad? November brings all those memories back! It's basketball season at BCS, and we can't wait to cheer on our girls and boys. We invite you to come relive those memories, make some new ones, and help us fill the stands as we support our Saints!
I also want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who helped our students fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Because of your generosity, children around the world will receive a special gift and, more importantly, hear the message of God's love. We are so grateful for the support of our church and school family. As Psalm 107:1 reminds us, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever."
We are equally thankful for everyone who helped make Fall Fest such a success! Thank you to the parents, students, and grandparents who gave their time, energy, cars, and candy to make the evening special. Fall Fest is a church-sponsored event, and BCS was there in full force! What a blessing to be part of a school family that is always willing to serve.
One of the highlights of November will be Homecoming Week, November 9–14! Think back to your own Homecoming memories—the spirit days, pep rallies, big games, and friendships that made the week unforgettable. Now it's our students' turn to make those memories! Our students will enjoy a week of themed dress-up days:
Monday: Mask Monday
Tuesday: Mystery Match
Wednesday: Mystery Character
Thursday: Royalty vs. Rebels
Friday: House vs. House
We also hope you'll join us for our Homecoming celebrations, including the Pep Rally and Alumni Dinner on Thursday, November 12 and basketball games and a bonfire on Friday, November 13. To our alumni, this is your week, too! Come home, reconnect with old friends, reminisce about your days at Byne, and cheer on the next generation of Saints. We would love to see you!
Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome our students and their families for our Thanksgiving Luncheon and Science Expo on Thursday, November 19.This special day gives our students an opportunity to showcase what they've been learning, exploring, and discovering. It's also a wonderful opportunity for our school family to gather around the table, celebrate our students, and give thanks together.
There are also a couple of ways you can support BCS as we head into the holiday season. Our School Board is selling Boston Butts from Hog N Bones for $35 each, with a bottle of barbecue sauce included. It's a great addition to your holiday table! Also, our Charleston Wrap Christmas Paper Fundraiser is still going strong. You can stock up on wrapping paper and other holiday items while supporting our school through Dr. Hall's BCS fundraising page or any student's individual link.
As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I want you to know how grateful we are for each of you. Thank you for your continued prayers, generosity, encouragement, and support of Byne Christian School. We are blessed to partner with families who share in our mission and love for our students.
May your November be filled with opportunities to make memories, serve others, and recognize the many blessings God has placed in our lives.
With gratitude,
Dr. Hall
