Strong Leadership On and Off the Court: Meet the Coaches Behind BCS Girls Basketball

We're grateful for the leadership of Coach Jami Harper and Coach Shana Sullivan as they continue to lead our BCS Girls Basketball Program!

With a powerful combination of experience, passion, and heart, these two women are committed to building a strong, Christ-centered program and investing in the lives of our student-athletes. From championship roots to years of coaching and community impact, Coach Harper and Coach Sullivan bring so much to the court — and we’re thankful for the example they set on and off the hardwood.

Meet Coach Jami Harper — Co-Leading BCS Girls Basketball with Coach Shanna Sullivan!

Coach Harper brings a strong background in athletics and leadership to our basketball program. Originally from Kansas, she played collegiate basketball at Butler County Community College and Emporia State University. She also spent 10 years as the Youth Sports Director at McConnell Air Force Base, coaching instructional basketball and other sports before moving to Georgia in 2000.

She has been a steady presence in our community, coaching youth league teams and stepping in to assist with the BCS Girls Basketball team last season. Off the court, Coach Harper is the Community Programs Manager at Sowega Council on Aging, where she will retire this year after 21 years of service.

Faith and family are at the center of her life — she serves as a Children’s Sunday School teacher, choir member, and substitute pianist at Poulan Methodist Church, where her husband, Dan, is the pastor. They have one daughter, Traci.

We’re grateful to have Coach Harper co-leading our girls basketball program and investing in our student-athletes!

Meet Coach Shana Sullivan — Co-Leading BCS Girls Basketball with Coach Jami Harper!

Coach Sullivan is a proud BCS alum and former athlete, having played on the BCS Girls Varsity State Championship teams in 1993, 1994, and 1997. A proud BCS alum, she brings both championship experience and a deep love for our school community to the court.

After earning her PharmD from the University of Georgia in 2007, she opened The Pharmhouse pharmacy on Highway 82 in Leesburg, where she continues to serve the community with excellence.

Shana and her husband, Byrd, are raising four boys — Thomas, Will, Ben, and Charlie — and are faithful members of First Baptist Church of Albany.

We’re grateful to have Coach Sullivan investing in our girls and co-leading our basketball program with experience, heart, and faith!
